Recording now live!

We held the first webinar from our series of educational webinars on Thursday 26th March 2015 which was presented by Professor Tim Shaw, Director Research in Implementation Science and eHealth of the Faculty of Health Sciences, and Carrie Marr, Executive Director Organisational Effectiveness for Western Sydney Local Health District.

The webinar featured conversations around the similarities and differences between the two worlds of Implementation Science and Quality Improvement, bought to life with real project examples from Western Sydney and Scotland where excellent results have been gained.

Participants were invited to join the conversation and we received a number of excellent questions including:
  1. Given the overlap between implementation science and quality improvement, should projects in these fields go through institutional ethics or through institutional quality assurance processes?
  2. The federal dept of health is experimenting with embedding academics in their primary care branch in a KE role. Has anything similar been done in a clinical setting, embedding imp sci researchers in clinical settings - perhaps this is what TRIP tries to do?
  3. The need for ethics can enhance or hamper both approaches. How is this dealt with in Scotland?
  4. Are there strategies for sustainability -  once a project is no longer under the microscope?
  5. So how might we bring the two (Implementation Science and Quality Improvement) closer together
The recording is now available to be watched at your leisure - please find it on the resources page of this site along with our other recordings from the archives.
