About the workshopAll implementation programs and health service innovations are required to include an economic evaluation. In light of increasingly limited health care resources and growing concerns about quality of care, effective implementation strategies to improve service delivery and outcomes have grown in popularity.
Economic evaluations can inform decisions about the efficiency and allocation of resources to implementation strategies - strategies explicitly designed to inform care providers and patients about the best available research evidence and to enhance its use in their practices. This practical workshop addressed the importance of economic evaluation in the context of implementation science and how these analyses can be most efficiently incorporated into decision-making processes and grant applications. |

This workshop focussed on facilitating factors and barriers to adoption in the clinical setting of evidence based health care practices. The key presentation addresses how behavioral change interventions need to involve basic principles of adult learning theory as well as neurocognitive science and how advances in information technology are validating impact assessments. This workshop covers knowledge translation (T3) and clinical quality improvement initiatives. |
